Message From the Principal:
My name is Mary Leinard and I am delighted to be the new principal of Yokota Middle School. I have been an educator for 22 years, 19 of them in Japan. My most recent assignment was as the principal of Yokosuka Middle School. You may have concluded that I love Japan and you would be correct! I have taught a wide variety of subjects: elementary classroom (2nd, 4th, & 5th,) middle and high school music and humanities, AVID, and high school English. I lived in Yokota from 1999-2001 during my tenure at the Japan District Superintendent’s Office as the Language Arts, Fine Arts, and AVID liaison and enjoyed my time here back then.
I am already impressed with the students, teachers, and parents who are part of the Yokota Middle School family. Please feel free to call or stop by if you have concerns or just want to chat. We are all part of this learning community and have the same goal of providing the best education possible for the middle school students at our school. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you - the students and parents of YMS!
